**NECA TMNT Mirage Foot Enforcer Review – Big, Brutal, and Built Like a Brick (In More Ways Than One)**

Sometimes you buy a figure because of deep lore knowledge.

Sometimes you buy a figure because it looks like a **roided-out ninja tank covered in blades**.

Guess which one happened here.

## Who Are the Foot Enforcers?

According to the packaging:

> *“The most skilled of the Foot Clan's ninjas, the Enforcers are mysterious and menacing. These well-armed warriors form Shredder's inner guard and carry out his most lethal orders.”*

Image: box front with clear window showing blue armored Foot Soldier figure and weapons. Branding NECA, Nickelodeon, TMNTMirage Studios.

[

]

So yeah — not your average Foot Soldier. These are **Shredder’s elite inner guard**, the guys you send when regular cannon fodder keeps getting folded by turtles. Big, dangerous, heavily armed, and meant to be intimidating shelf presence. Mission accomplished there.

This NECA release is based on the **Mirage Comics version** of TMNT and pulls straight from that gritty comic aesthetic.

## The Impulse Buy That Wasn’t… Then Was

When these first went up for preorder at **$37.99 USD**, I got so hyped I locked in **three**. Hulking Foot brutes with weapons? Say less.

Image: box right shows four comic-panel photos of the blue Foot Soldier posed with weapons. Yellow captions “MEANWHILE…” and TO BE CONTINUED!.

[

]

Then reality hit: *“Dude… it’s almost Christmas. Maybe buy Desi something nice instead of more plastic ninjas.”*

Preorders cancelled. Responsible adult moment unlocked.

Fast forward almost a year. Holiday sale. Big Bad Toy Store.

**$24.99.**

Image: A close-up of a blue armored sci‑fi action figure, shown from the head down to the upper thighs. The figure’s right arm is raised forward with a clenched fist, as if punching or aiming. The helmet has a black faceplate with two small orange-red eye shapes and a lighter blue band across the forehead. The armor is glossy, painted in several shades of blue with black line detailing and small teal accent marks on the chest and abdomen. On the figure’s left side of the torso there’s a rectangular ribbed panel.

[

]

That’s not a discount. That’s destiny. Three went in the cart so fast my wallet didn’t even have time to scream. Moral of the story: **sometimes not being impulsive pays off hard.**

Image: A close-up of the same blue armored action figure, framed from the helmet and shoulders across to the outstretched right arm. The right arm is extended straight forward, and the forearm has a raised blue bracer covered with small silver spikes and a row of larger silver triangular studs down the center. The shoulder armor is layered in curved bands, and the upper arm shows black line details suggesting musculature or panel seams. The helmet is partly visible at the left edge with the black faceplate and a hint of the orange-red eye shape.

## Sculpt & Presence – Absolute Units

These guys are **chunky**. Like, *“make your old Shredder look like he skipped leg day”* chunky. Big torso, thick arms, heavy gauntlets with spikes, layered ninja gear — they look like Foot Ninjas who went through a strength and conditioning program designed by Bane.

Image: A close-up of the action figure’s torso and upper legs under strong blue lighting. The figure is facing away from the camera, showing its back: broad shoulder armor with angular ridges, a smooth upper back with a few black line details and small teal accent marks, and a belt/waist area with several stacked, ring-like bands. On the right side of the torso/waist area there’s a large rectangular ribbed panel with tight, repeating curved grooves. The tops of both thighs are visible with glossy highlights, and both arms extend outward to the sides but are mostly cropped off.

[

]

Details from the sculpt and paint are straight comic-book style: dark blue tones, shading, folds in the clothing, textured armor, and those spiked forearm guards that actually look vicious. The dome-like helmet and red eyes give them that faceless, nightmare enforcer vibe.

Shelf presence? **Elite tier.** These dominate a display.

Image: A full-body shot of the blue armored action figure from the back, standing with legs apart and both arms raised out to the sides. The figure’s back has layered shoulder armor and a mostly smooth blue surface with black line detailing and a few teal accent marks. Around the waist are several stacked, ring-like bands, and on the right side of the waist/hip area there’s a large rectangular ribbed panel that sticks outward. The right forearm bracer has small silver spikes and larger triangular studs. The lower legs have wrapped, banded sculpting, and the feet are planted wide. On the right side of the photo there’s a vertical row of bright white LED dots on a dark surface, and behind the figure is a light gray grid-like background with a vertical yellow strip.

## Accessories – Loaded for Turtle Season

NECA did not skimp on weapons:

* 4 sets of hands

Image: Eight small blue action-figure hand/forearm accessories laid out on a light surface in two rows of four.

Top row, left to right: a “rock on” hand sign (index and pinky extended), an open hand with fingers together, a clenched fist, a chunky wrist/gauntlet piece with small silver studs.

Bottom row, left to right: another “rock on” hand sign, another open hand, another clenched fist, another studded wrist/gauntlet piece.

[

]

* Ninjato (long sword)

Image : A small blue plastic sword accessory lying horizontally on a light-colored surface, lit with bluish light. The handle is dark blue with a crisscross grip pattern and a short round pommel. There’s a simple straight rectangular guard. The blade is long and narrow with a slightly angled tip, and there are a few short line markings near the base of the blade. A long shadow of the sword falls downward across the surface.

[

]

* Butterfly sword (short sword)

Image: A small blue plastic sword accessory lying diagonally on a light surface under bluish lighting. The blade is long and rectangular with a beveled, angled tip, and there are a few short groove marks near the base of the blade. The handle area has a chunky guard that forms a partial loop around the grip, with several small triangular spikes on top. The grip itself is ribbed, and a dark shadow falls down and left from the sword.

[

]

* Naginata

Image: A long blue polearm-style accessory lying horizontally on a light surface under bluish lighting. Most of it is a thin, straight shaft. On the right end there’s a blocky, rectangular spear-like blade with an angled tip, attached to a small collar. Just behind the blade are two short spike-like projections sticking out diagonally (one upward and one downward). The left end is partly in shadow and looks like it has a broader, curved blade or fin shape. A long shadow runs beneath the weapon.

[

]

* Three-section staff

Image: A blue nunchuck-style accessory on a light surface under bluish lighting. Two blue cylindrical handles are connected by a short black cord. One handle is near the top left edge and partly cropped, and the other handle is on the right side angled downward. The cord forms a loose curve between them, and both handles cast dark shadows on the surface.

[

]

On paper? Phenomenal value. Big body + multiple weapons at that original MSRP is why I always say NECA is one of the best-value mainstream companies out there.

Image: A blue humanoid action figure standing and leaning forward, with both arms extended straight out in front. It has a ridged, angular blue helmet and a muscular upper body with sculpted, segmented armor-like clothing. One forearm wears a blue bracer covered with small silver spikes and diamond-shaped studs. The legs are together, with ribbed, banded detailing around the lower legs.

## …But Then You Try to Pose Him

Here’s where the honeymoon phase ends.

### ❌ Articulation Issues

Yes, the figure *has* articulation — ball head, double elbows, hips, knees, etc.

But in practice?

Image: A blue humanoid action figure standing and leaning forward. Its left hand is raised to the side of its head, and its right arm extends outward to the side. The figure has a smooth black faceplate with small red eye shapes, a ridged blue helmet, and segmented armor-like clothing with black line details. One forearm has a blue bracer covered in small silver spikes and diamond-shaped studs. Around the waist/hip area there’s a rectangular ribbed panel detail.

[

]

* Shoulder armor blocks upward arm movement

* Bulky arms limit elbow range

* No butterfly joints = no proper two-handed weapon poses

* Minimal torso articulation = stiff upper body

These are supposed to be ninjas. Instead, they feel like **armored refrigerators with swords**.

I even had a shoulder piece pop off when pushing range. Not ideal.

Image: Three blue armored humanoid action figures standing in a row, lit with dark blue/purple lighting. Each figure wears a helmet and segmented, armor-like clothing with ribbed bands around the lower legs. They appear to be holding long staff-like weapons (or swords) across their bodies or over their shoulders. The middle figure is crouched with legs spread, while the figures on the left and right are standing more upright with one leg extended.

[

]

### ❌ Parts Popping

Forearms detach way too easily during posing. They plug back in, sure, but it breaks flow and gets annoying fast.

### ❌ My Biggest Pet Peeve

**No storage.**

No sheaths. No holsters. Nowhere to put all these weapons. So when they’re not holding something, the rest just… exist in a pile like rejected DLC.

Image: Three blue armored humanoid action figures posed together like a small combat scene.

Left figure: partly cropped, stepping in from the left with one leg forward. A short blade is visible near its hand, and it has studded bracers with small silver spikes.

Center figure: crouched low with knees bent, holding a long sword angled upward across its chest. It also has spiked, studded bracers and a smooth black faceplate with small red eye shapes.

Right figure: leaning back with one leg raised, holding a long staff or sword across its body. A ribbed rectangular panel is visible on its torso/waist area, and it has a black faceplate with red eye shapes.

## Playability vs Display

After the initial *“WOW BIG NINJA BRUTE”* phase, they’re honestly **less fun to play with** than expected. Posing options are limited, dynamic ninja stances are hard, and the body fights you.

Image: Five action figures posed in front of a grid-patterned board with a poster of trains on tracks at sunset.

Far left: a purple-skinned figure in a dark outfit with a purple head and yellow eyes, holding a long sword straight up. It’s standing on a blue display base with a clear support stand.

Left-center: a large black, white, and blue armored figure holding a sword raised overhead. A large gray gun is strapped along its side.

Center: a smaller figure wearing a light blue helmet and face covering, a purple outfit with a bright pink cape, and blue-and-white boots. Yellow translucent “energy” effects swirl around its arms and down to the floor.

Right: two blue armored foot-soldier style figures with black faceplates and red eye slits. The front one holds a sword angled across its body, and the one behind stands slightly turned, holding a long staff or weapon.

[

]

But here’s the thing…

That discount price saved me from buyer’s remorse. At full price, I might’ve been salty. At $24.99? I’m chilling.

Because these guys shine in their intended role:

**Background menace.**

Cannon-fodder elites.

The wall of muscle your heroes have to carve through.

Image: Four action figures posed in a line on a tabletop in front of a white grid-patterned board, with the lower part of a train poster visible at the top.

Left: a blue armored figure (partly cropped) with a black faceplate and red eye slits, wearing spiked bracers and holding a long blue staff angled down toward the floor.

Left-center: a full blue armored figure with the same helmet and red eye slits, holding a long blue spear diagonally upward across its body. It has spiked bracers and a ribbed rectangular panel hanging at the front of its waist.

Right-center: a human figure with light skin, dark hair tied in a topknot, and a full gray beard. He wears a long dark green coat with gold trim over green camo-pattern pants and black boots. He holds a curved sword out to his right side, with another sword in a black sheath at his left hip.

Right: another blue armored figure with spiked bracers and the ribbed waist panel, holding a sword angled upward across its body.

[

]

And for that? They’re perfect.

## Display Versatility

These aren’t just Turtle villains. These dudes can:

Image: Four action figures posed like a fight scene in front of a white grid board with a train poster at the bottom.

Top right: a large blue armored figure with a black faceplate and red eye slits is crouched high, one leg bent and one leg extended, holding a long blue spear upright. It has spiked bracers and a ribbed panel at the waist.

Behind center: another blue armored figure partly hidden, also holding a long spear angled downward.

Center: a green turtle character with an orange eye mask and a brown chest shell, standing upright and facing right. It has orange bands on its arms and legs and holds silver sai weapons.

Bottom right: a smaller blue armored figure kneels with a sword held diagonally across its body, also wearing spiked bracers and a ribbed waist panel.

* Jump the TMNT

* Get wrecked by Batman

* Brawl with Daredevil

* Take a beating from Punisher

* Swarm GI Joe

* Get sliced up by The Bride

Image: A group of action figures posed in a battle scene on a tabletop in front of a white grid board, with a train poster at the left.

Foreground center: a red-suited masked figure in a full-body outfit, standing with legs apart and arms slightly out. Two black swords are crossed on its back in a harness, and a curved sword is strapped across the back as well.

Foreground right: a tan ninja-style figure with a covered face and two black swords on its back, standing with one arm bent as if ready to fight.

Top right (partly cropped): another tan ninja figure, also with a covered face and two black swords on its back, posed with legs apart and holding a weapon near its hands.

Background: several blue armored foot-soldier figures with black faceplates and red eye slits, some holding long blue spears. A thin yellow strip runs along the back edge of the surface behind them.

[

]

Generic armored ninja heavies are **display gold**. I can already tell these are going to be recurring “enemy squad” figures in future setups.

Image: A fight scene with action figures posed on a tabletop in front of a white grid board with a train poster at the top.

Left edge (partly cropped): a blue armored foot-soldier figure.

Left-center: a blue armored figure with a black faceplate and red eye slits, braced in a wide stance and thrusting a long blue spear forward toward the red figures.

Center: a red-hooded ninja figure facing left, bending forward as if reacting to an attack. It’s holding a short weapon in one hand, with a curved blade hanging near its waist and additional weapons strapped on its back. A silver chain wraps around one wrist/hand.

Right-center: another red-hooded ninja figure standing more upright, holding a long sword raised diagonally overhead with both hands. Two black weapons are strapped on its back.

Right edge (partly cropped): another blue armored figure, only partly visible.

## Final Thoughts

Are they the most poseable? No.

Are they perfect? Not even close.

Do they look like absolute savage units on a shelf? **Oh hell yes.**

Image: A battle pose with one silver armored figure surrounded by three blue armored foot-soldier figures, set in front of a white grid board with a train poster on the left.

Center: a silver knight-like figure with layered armor plates and a helmet. A red cross-like emblem is on its chest. It’s posed midair with one leg kicked out to the right, holding a curved sword raised overhead in its right hand and another curved sword down in its left hand.

Top left: a large blue armored figure with a black faceplate and red eye slits, leaning in as if attacking, holding a sword pointed downward toward the silver figure.

Bottom left: a blue armored figure holding a long blue spear with a light blue blade, angled up toward the silver figure.

Behind the silver figure (partly visible): another blue armored figure crouched or braced low, with its helmet and legs visible.

On the right side of the photo there’s a bright vertical light strip creating strong glare.

[

]

NECA delivered on sculpt, presence, and value — even if articulation keeps them from being true ninja acrobats. For army-building and visual impact, they absolutely earn their place.

And hey, waiting a year saved me enough cash to feel smart for once. That’s a Christmas miracle on its own.

Image: Four action figures posed as a standoff on a tabletop in front of a white grid board with a train poster at the top. A bright circular ring-shaped glare appears on the board behind the figures.

Left: a blue armored foot-soldier figure with a black faceplate and red eye slits, holding a sword raised diagonally upward in its right hand. It has spiked bracers and a ribbed rectangular waist panel.

Center-left: another blue armored figure stepping forward with arms bent, holding two short blue batons (one in each hand). It has the same helmet, spiked bracers, and ribbed waist panel.

Center-right: a pink-skinned female figure with a white mohawk-style hairstyle. She wears gold bracers and a blue outfit (a top and short skirt), and holds two curved green swords up in front of her as if blocking or ready to strike.

Right: a third blue armored figure, partly cropped, holding a sword angled forward across its body.
